Our English language colleges are in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.
Group study tours are open to groups of students aged 11 years and above at any time of the year.
Groups can be arranged for 1 week to 4 weeks and can be based at any GEOSNZ
Campus, at local primary schools, intermediate schools, high schools or
outdoor camps. Study Tours combine English lessons, homestay
accommodation, sightseeing, excursions, cultural visits, and sporting
activities. Programmes can be designed to suit the requirements of the
group.
Our Teacher Training department
is a Cambridge University recognised training centre to deliver the
internationally renowned CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to
Adults) and offers many other Teacher Development short teaching abroad.

Educational
resources
come in many different forms today, including CDs, software, DVDs, videos,
books, overheads, websites, posters, and demonstration kits. With so many
forms of media, learning becomes more effective as it is more interesting as well as providing a means of
interaction. Whether for primary, secondary or tertiary education,
or for specialist subjects (such as languages) educational resources abound in libraries, book stores, and online.
Different resources are available for a range of subject material, whether
for teachers, lecturers, parents or students. For educators that have run
out of ideas, educational resources can provide creative lesson plans with
multimedia aids. For parents, books with syllabus objectives outlined can
help with assisting their child. While students can access a variety of
reference resources from school and local libraries, as well as on the
internet. Multimedia resources can really help a student achieve their
academic potential in a an interesting and effective manner, whether
studying for exams or writing assignments.
English language resources
Language books are useful for beginners learning a foreign language, for
refreshing your memory in a language, or as a reference resource. These
books will usually focus on a combination of language aspects, including
written and spoken English. Often language books will include a tape, CD,
DVD, or video for teaching pronunciation, aural comprehension and for
interactive practice on a computer. Another form of language books are
bi-lingual or multilingual fiction books, which often have one page in the
foreign language, while the opposing page provides a translation of the
text.
Dictionaries are a very useful resource when learning another language. The
functions of a dictionary are to provide definitions, proper pronunciation,
correct spelling as well as any restrictive labels attached to a word.
Pronunciation of a particular word may vary from region to region, so a
dictionary will give the generally accepted pronunciation. The dictionary
will use italics to indicate the syllable in a word to be stressed. If a
word is marked 'informal', 'colloquial' or 'slang' it signals caution in
their use.
A bilingual dictionary is a dictionary that is usually used to translate
words or phrases from one language to another. A multilingual dictionary
will translate phrases into more than one language, the most common form
being the trilingual dictionary. These are designed mainly for students,
travelers, translators and businessmen working overseas.
